Abusive comments on wall - what to do?

Sort:

I've always kept my wall open to the chess.com community, and I don't even block players, because everyone here is so friendly and serious about chess, and very relevant and nice.

However, I recently began to get abusive comments on my wall, which have severely damaged my self-confidence and faith in humanity and chess.com. Please read:

null

These are 5 consecutive abusive posts.

The first player called me a 1200 FIDE, which I'm guessing is because he beat me so badly. I'm actually 1500 FIDE, so this hurts a lot. I was just really upset afterwards.

The second player was even worse - 2 abusive posts, one saying I got owned like a boss (trash talk) and one posting the game in which he beat me in (public shaming).

Then we have Bishop_g5, who wanted me to play a Pirc Defense... enough said.

Then there's BP, one of the famous chess.com users, and up until now was very very serious.

His note says that he has to contact a psychologist (for me, I presume). I couldn't read any further because I was so hurt.

What will chess.com do about this abusive and unacceptable conduct?

Pulpofeira

Really abusive, trying to win you over playing the Pirc!

Some keep it as trophies, some remove it. Opinions differ here.

Either way the mods can see them, even if they are removed.

Means for that reason the message doesn't need to stay there.

It wouldn't bother me at all. A member could write whatever pleases them on my wall and twenty years from now that comment would still be there. I joined Chess.com exactly one week ago today. Surely I must have ruffled a few feathers during the past seven days, and if I have then I welcome all you ruffled feathers out there to visit my cabin in the woods and write what your little hearts desire. Cheers! 🌹
