Play when your not stressed that’s what helped me distractions make you play worse. Or just play for fun for a bit.

oh really it doesnt mean you can control it, just look me i was 2179 over 2 months ago and tilted all the way down to 1820 and now am 2063 so really you cant really reduce it man. you can try to fight for some days, get some wins, losses, draws but then again its the same logic all over in the same cycle. all we can do is try our best to reduce losses but we cant control it nor do we even some power on if we even get streaks or massive rating loss

From a statistical point of view your day a game is not really affected by another game (unless you are tired) so chances are luck just didn't work out for you lmao

tilt doesnt rely with luck, some games may have just caused you to be upset but ultimately the game of chess is a game built on complete information and not some luck as its pretty much whoever can play the game better will be the one that wins most likely and we will have to accept it that way

Tbh rating is pretty rough, your win percentage might be based on the opponent depending on whether he has the exact strengths counter yours. Ofc, a 2000 blitz is generally better than say me, who is likely better than a 1400, but if a 1700 plays a 1700 the percentage win could be anywhere from 0 to 100 percent, not exactly 50

Or listen to music and try to find a rythym.

Perhaps some didn't understand what I mean by "tilt" because tilt is not identical to a downswing in chess rating. No matter who you are, or what your attitude towards chess is, you'll probably have off-days and similarly have downswings. When I'm talking about addressing tilt, I'm not claiming you'll never have a downswing in chess again.

I'm referring to tilt as an emotion that is related to anger, but also slightly different. Tilt is defined on Wikipedia as: "a poker term for a state of mental or emotional confusion or frustration in which a player adopts a less than optimal strategy, usually resulting in the player becoming over-aggressive."

Overly aggressive mindsets are not really good for chess. Often it might help to clear your mind of the loss. But yes, there is no way to prevent losing, it might just be better to accept the losses.

One thing I've learned from tilt - its a good sign

Usually when you tilt you'll get it back within a month or so, accept coming back stronger

🤔 chill-out guys...i also experience the tilt period before...i admit...it was a depressing experience...what i do to clear out my mind is...i try to have a time out, log-off...and take night-out stroll...then i met someone (also a woman titled player 🤫)...in the drinking-bar...who also a chess enthusiast...we...discuss things while we drink and listen to reggae musicians...we both get drunk...but i can still manage...so i have to walk her out into her appartment...then...uhm...i was surprise she was not at all drunk...after we drink a cup of turmeric tea...she pretended to be so that i walked her to her appartment room...there we play blitz chess using the antique analog chessclock she inherited with her late grandfather...we play our bets...untill 3am...where the loser of every game gets punished...we traded wins and loses...but the difficult punishment is when being checkmated...then untill i got checkmated but i somehow enjoy the moment of punishment🤫 the next day...i try to play online again...then i started winning again...almost careful with my moves out of phobia...because of what happened during recent night-out experience...

✌️😋

That’s an interesting story!

Skip work for a few days to stay at home to play as many live games as possible.  Take over the living room, kitchen, and bedroom as your chess-domain and do not anyone disturb you.  If anyone interrupts you then yell at them very loudly but do no explain to them what you are doing.  Just make them leave you alone.

And at the end of that I will officially be labled as insane and no one will bother me while I’m playing! Great idea!

Hello everyone recently I’ve been pretty tilted and I’ve been blundering simple things. Does anyone have any advice?

try to snap some legos. Your anger will dissipate really quickly once you realize that you can't and that everything is futile

its a process very simple man, simply take the hits and pain until it goes away and then the tilt returns in about a few months

My methods are not so simple, but it doesn't return in a few months. I'm ambitiously trying to eliminate tilt permanently.
