its really unappropriate to derail this thread with mean or obscene comments- thats why the last guy was booted out.

I know its not the MOST serious of conversations- but its still wrong to personally attack somebody.

Right, the way to actually do it is to use a picture of yourself as your avatar. It seems the next step is to then constantly whine about people hitting on you all the time... Oh wait no, sorry. That's just what most of the girls here do... I guess guys can't pick up women on a chess website. Who knew?

Anyway, I've wanted one of them shot glass chess sets for a while. Maybe if I offer one of my mates Queen odds on that board they'll take 10 minutes away from the poker game to lose a game of chess to me. Anybody here have one of those?

I've seen guys on here with photos of themselves as their avatar. Does that make them attention whores? What about the girls you think are ugly? They're not attention whores, are they? Just the ones your primitive mind feels obligated to give attention to, they must be desperate for it...

The chess.com forums are actually a perfect example of how women just can't win. In the video gaming community I've gotten harassment for not showing my face in streams, vids, avatars, etc. because it must mean that I'm fat/ugly. And then on here if I do show my face, I must be a man or just desperate for attention. At least it's still a rather small minority of little boys in this community who go reverse white knight on females by harassing them until they can feel confident they're getting enough attention themselves.

I don't think it's necessarily the same if a guy does it because it won't gain them attention (certainly not as much), but even if it is to be considered the same, most guys don't do it. Most women/girls do.

You're attractive and I'm sure you do get a lot of this, but I think you underestimate the amount of attention the less attrative girls also get here on chess.com. The amount of unattractive (or just older) women on here who post albums of themselves and get countless comments about their beauty is astounding.

That's ok - some alcohol is too young to be drunk as well
