Well the so called multiverse paradigm is actually the claim that wave packet collapse is not real (along with the proposal that the whole quantum mechanics should be rewritten without mentionning it). But it is true that oversimplistic vulgarization did tons of harm.
actually if the universe is infinite , everything has already happen somewhere else , anything and everything, and will happen again and is happening now , thats what infinite means.
