Most people say beginners should not look at openings too much. However, that book would seem to be very basic, so I think it couldn't hurt. Of course, learning tactics should still be your main goal.

I have recently picked up the book,"Cess Openings for Dummies", and am beginning to look at openings. My question is while I am still looking at tactics a ton, I feel that I need to be aware of openings to help formulate a plan of attack. And I feel it will help me figure out what type of palyer I am. Any thoughts?
