Wow...these guys in the 800's are extremely difficult to beat....they make flawless moves! Very complex manuevers!   Wonder why they are only ranked in the 800's-900's??????  You guys either changed your scoring in the years that I've been off the site or the lower end has really improved!

It's a subjective feeling. In your last game neither player played flawlessly.

Agree....my playing is awful since returning to chess.com but it seems that in many games after about move ten or eleven, there is a long pause from the opponent and then rapid-fire excellent moves from there on out.

800 blitz is much tougher than 800 rapid.

The players you'll encounter at 800 blitz are surprisingly okay. I've played blitz games against 800s for fun and most of the moves my opponents played were actually pretty decent, minus a few catastrophic blunders.

@WordUpp can you give us any examples of specific games?

I think he's referring to games like this. Black didn't play "amazing" but also didn't make too many horrendous blunders either:

Damn....now I feel worse than ever.  You have ruined my self-esteem!  I'm speaking in very broad generalities...not one-game specific.  If I am being paranoid, forgive me but it seems strange how well some people seem to do...take four minutes for the first ten moves and then fire off a flawless move every three seconds thereafter to destroy me.  Maybe in my three-year hiatus my sensibilities have been damaged irreparably.  Thanks for listening to my venting....I feel better getting it off my chest.  I had no idea of a difference between blitz and rapid, I just wanted to play a quick game.  Maybe I'll move to rapid...whatever that is!

Don’t worry. I had the same thought. I was thinking “How in the world people in 900 in blitz can understand my intentions quickly???” I don’t know what exactly happened, but I was able to get better somehow. Just play more and you will understand better maybe?

I also feel ignorant in that I didn't realize there were so many formats and that in each format one has a different rating......I assumed that my awful rating around 900 was my rating, period!  I now see that I have a different rating in other game formats.....interesting.  Maybe I'm not quite as bad as I thought.

Depends on the time control also. 3+0 and 5+5 are in a different world

I sympathize with the frustration you are feeling. My own experience playing Blitz was remarkably similar. It's a surprisingly difficult format to master.

In regards to your games. As others have already pointed out, it doesn't look like you encounter opponents that play too many flawless moves.  In fact, after checking multiple of your games, I have not seen a single game where your opponent played flawless, or even excellent.

The good news is that in every game of yours I looked at, you were always better at some point in the game. I think you are losing a lot of games that are very evenly matched. With a bit more focus and luck, you'll win way more.

One thing I noticed is that in a lot a your lost games, especially the short ones, you have an abundance of time left to play. It's important to play fast, but you should avoid positions where you are completely lost with over 3 minutes on the clock. That time should be spent on avoiding that situation.  Based on what I've seen so far, you're going to win a lot of games just by taking the time to avoid blunders.

An example (edit)

Move 8. g4, any player that looks at that move for more than 5 seconds will be able to identify the threat of this move, including you. However, with more than 5 minutes on the clock, you blundered your Knight after spending around 1 second on you move. Easily avoidable. And you shouldn't resign after losing a minor pieces for a pawn.

Anyway, good luck

Beginners are outrageously good nowadays. There's so many free resources for chess online that it's unavoidable, and has to be a plus for the game overall.
