Or you can just accept that rematches are not obligatory blah blah blah we all know and we're tired of this always being brought up please just be quiet. Also, there are zombies on your lawn.
Americans do not give rematch
Gee...another "rematch" post. Havent had one of them in...oh i dont know...12.5 seconds.
I will be monitoring this, just in case someone posts something new...LOL...just kidding, that wont happen.
Yea, people have asked for a "best of" option or a rematch setting. I'd support that if it got people to shut up about rematches.
It depends on the situation, I would not want a rematch if player play bizarre opening, you know 1.f3 or 1...f6 or crappy moves. I like to play chess that I can learn from, not someone mindlessly blitzing their moves so they can beat you on time. It should up to the player if they want to play again, win or lose I just play THE NEXT OPPONENT, unless my opponent is a title player or played really well.
Don't be a sore loser and expect to play the same opponent so you can get revenge, its so petty. Grow up. Most players don't ask for a rematch and its not just Americans; its more fun to play different players.
1) They want to play different players with different styles of playing
2) People have a life after chess and they could be busy
You should not just assume they are cowards.
Such a silly post. I've never been offered a rematch. But I think someone of any nationality might refuse a rematch simply because they want to play someone who plays in a different style. The internet allows you to play many many opponents. Why keep playing the same one?
I'm not buying that Americans are less likely to give rematches. It doesn't have anything to do with nationality or culture but rather personal preference. If it seems that Americans reject more rematch requests, it's probably because there are so many Americans on this site. I would bet that Americans also accept more rematch requests for the same reason.
Having said that, I used to routinely accept rematch requests. But then I started noticing angry comments on players' profile walls posted by opponents who were denied their God-given right to a rematch - as well as forums created by sore losers to rant about it. That's when I stopped accepting them.
When someone accepts a game, he's not making a long-term commitment. He signed up for a game, not a match. He's not responsible for your irrational need to get revenge.
How many times are we going to have these threads (after thread after thread after thread) with people crying because they didn't get a rematch? No one owes you a rematch. No one owes anyone a rematch. When we agree to a game, we never agreed to two or three or four, just because you lost the first one. If you want more than one game against an opponent, you can play in a tournament.

Well said. You might enjoy my lighthearted thread, My rematch request was rejected!

lol
I've said it in the past, after some reactions I thought maybe it was just me. But again after numerous new games I'm 100% sure, from all the nations on earth, americans(although a nation that I admire) because somekind of unknown reason, always run off the tables after a game. No matter win or lose, they always run. Don't know what's the reason, such a great nation, but in chess I guess they are just cowards...
Would it be unfair to conclude that in chess, Italians are whining sore losers?
