does anyone know what the three dots mean when you are in analyse mode it sometimes appear in front of a move

Not sure if this is what you mean, but for example
14.Nd4 means white moves knight to d4
14...Nd4 means black moves knight to d4
#. is a move by white
#... is a move by black
