I suggest keeping it simple. Put Fritz 14 into "Infinite Analysis" mode by pressing the toolbar button in the home tab or by entering Alt-F2. Then press the "+" or "-" buttons within the engine window to change the number of lines that are calculated in parallel for a given position.
Analysis function in Fritz14

Try "Full Analysis". When it is finished, it will show you alternate lines of play, for the blunders that it found. The new lines will be annotated in a blue font, and you can click on the annotations to see the moves.
Once you click on "Full Analysis" then click on advanced. make a note of what the default settings are in there. After that, you may want to change a few of those settings.
Threshold - is how much of a blunder do you want to check for. It is in increments of 100ths of a pawn. So if you want it to only check for blunders that are worth a half of a pawn, set it to 50. For 3/4 of a pawn, set it to 75.
My other suggestion is to just leave the button for "Reference DB" alone, untill you are more familiar with the program.
Alfresco:
The OP is already using Fritz’s “Blunder Check” analysis, which should include the same best lines in the game annotation as a “Full Analysis” does. What they are asking for is Fritz’s assessment of alternatives to its best line for a certain position, so I do not think your suggestion addresses their question.
I actually prefer the “Blunder Check” analysis because it can store the calculated position values for each move, a “Full Analysis” cannot. You lose the natural language commentary that a “Full Analysis” provides, but that commentary is usually not useful anyway, particularly when you have the stored position values to refer to. A “Full Analysis” with position values would be a nice feature.
Hi.
I'm a novice chess player and recently purchased Fritz 14 via Steam. Before that, I have experience using Scid vs PC a little.
What I'm doing with Fritz 14 is pretty simple. After playing a game, just open its PGN and do blunder check. That's it.
Doing so, I always see what I did and what Frits think is the best. But sometimes I wonder what kind of alternatives were there in a certain position and how Fritz evalutes them.
If I remember well, Scid vs PC has a certain function which evaluates each possible move with score / rate. Does Fritz has similar function? I checked Deep Position analysis but honestly the result is not so easy to read. Is Explain All Moves the best?
Thank you.
