yea, that is a better move. thanks
Analyze please
From a brief glance, your opening play was pretty good. I liked 17. ...c5!, but you definitely should've followed up with 18. ...Bg4! Setting up a good Knight vs Bad bishop scenario. Then, you could bring your Knight to d4 where it would clearly dominated the position, and support with one or both rooks on the d-file. 18. ...Be6, is, to use Silman's words, a "lazy move." The bishop doesn't do anything particular there -- c4 is hard for your army to target, his Bishop would be eyeing it for a while, and he can reinforce it with b3 whenever he wants, as he does in the game. Neither of you seemed to think that BxNe4 was worth looking at, but his Bishop should have gladly exchanged itself for your Knight. Both bishops were having trouble finding something to do, while your Knights would have been pleased to leap onto the d-file. As for your endgame technique, I recommend Silman's endgame book.

Unfortunately, I have that book! (hasn't helped!) Now that I look at it, you are right. I could have at least drawn b7 18...Bg4. I am too stuck in my ways that the bishop is better than the knight when there are pawns on both sides. My endgame technique could definitely use some improvement though...
A game from my first major tournament.
