No text. I just click an icon and get random videos. It has been this way ever since the new app. On my phone I can see text.

Remember no text in either videos or lessons. And I just checked messages to see how that is working and it crashed the app. Still a way to go.

Videos and Lessons are use similar code. I'll check possible issues for messages crash on samsung tablet. Thanks!

Not trying to be annoying here, but the missing premove function simply kills the live (blitz & bullet) chess experience for me... Both apps for other major chess servers (playchess, ICC) have this built in - not sure why it's so hard to implement in the chess.com app?
Of course the other added funcionality like forums, TT, videos etc. is great, but live chess experience is lacking - with other annoyance being unable to set a custom time control (like 3mins+2sec increment)...

Absolutely! An app is never going to be the same as a full web site accessed through a powerful browser. The one thing from dudido's rant that I agree with, though, is conditional moves in Online (Daily in the app) Chess. They're an incredibly useful tool that improves the efficiency of corresponcence chess, especially with forced lines.
I love how the new app is coming along, keep it up!

Blackberry is a nightmare for mobile developers. They have a worst SDK. Probably that is why there are not so many awesome apps that isn't so easy to develop and maintain :( But we are working on WP app, in case you have it/

What promote option do you mean? We have it. For live we have auto-queen promotion option.
About Conditional moves - we made tools there, but it's a bit complex to release it now, and we need to test it more and think better on it, as it envolves conditional moves logic from web interface and mobile apps.
As for puzzles posting option - we are planing to make our app as an PGN editor and viewer. So probably you will have what you want in near future.
Please be patient, as you are not alone with your wishes and we think about all our users. We want to bring you best chess app, and you must understand that it takes time :)
I agree guys that pre-move would be nice in live play . . . but you guys are aware that at the minimum for now you can pre select the next piece you want to move... for exaample.. if you play white D4 . . . (while your opponent is responding Black D5 for example) . . . you are able to already te pawn on C2 . . . and then all you have to do it touch C4 . . . atleast it helps a little. :)

We fixed it, you just need to wait for next release, as we can't udpdate app now with this small change. The next version will go in beta on next week.
Yeah, we have pre-drag option for live which is helpfull. Pre-move will be available soon.

Ok thanks, and I should mention the tactics trainer gets hosed on the same tablet about every 15 minutes. It gets into a statw where it doesn't quite finish the puzzle (to either incr or decr my score), so I do not get an arrow at the bottom to go to the next puzzle. Not sure if others are seeing that. When that happens I have to kill and restart the app.

Solved!
The problem isn't what I thought. When I click the arrow at the end of a puzzle sometimes I think I "double click" it (using a mouse metaphor. Then the new puzzle comes up, and the opposite color piece moves. Why? Because in the same place that I clicked to end the previous puzzle is the "light bulb" button for the new puzzle, which now thinks is pressed... but instead of moving the correct color, and deducting points (for giving me a hint), it moves the opposite color piece and then freezes unless I go to options and press "show answer".
So we have a bug, just not what I thought. It doesn't freeze randomly about every 15 min. Rather about every 15 min, I accidentally "double click" and then it freezes.
It is still a bug though... please fix. Samsung Tab 2 10.1

To be clear if I press the arrow at the end of a puzxle and wait a couple of seconds the light bulb button works normally, moves a piece of my color, then at the end deducts points because of a hint.
However if I accidentally "double click" then (I guess) the light bulb button is pressed so fast on thenew puzzle that it gets confused, moves a piece of the wrong color then freezes. Very curious.
What about the video and lesson functionality on the Samsung Tab 2 10.1 first reported when this thread started...? All I get is chessboard icons snd no text to say what is what. I even sent screenshots to Erik...
Please re-send me the screenshot of your issue. We did fix some issues with samsung devices, but probably you have a different one. We also did tests on Samsung 10.1 device, and had no issues like your. Thanks!
