andriod app update pushed out yesterday

Seems to be working fine now... the issue started with a game where we were repeating moves to a three fold repetition draw, not sure if that's useful... rebooting seems to have cleared the issue up.

It is not perfected yet=I will try it soon=I cant imagin playing chess on a cellphone

Nothing is perfect, but what wuld youl like to improve?:)

How about:

a) A possibility to close the chat in live chess. A female freind of mine tried playing on her tablet, and since she has a female nickname -- some sociopath opponent soon started to type mean and sexual stuff in the chat. Making her sad and hurt. Even after the game was over, it was hard to just get the text off the screen. Her live chess settings has chat disabled (for this reason) but those settings were not honoured by the app.

b) A possibility to just quit the app. Close it down, not just put it in the background. We looked for this, just to get the rude sick shit off the screen. Because the chat was open and we were not able to easily close it.

Fortunately the chess clock is buggy and causes the app to exit, so we found a workaround. 

a) We will add disable chat option.

b) when you are in live chess game press back button on your phone, app will ask you if you want to leave a game. Tap checkmark button, then just press back button until you land on home screen. 

Or you can tap on left top menu button -> Play and then back button - app will be closed.

If you want to completely log out from app, tap left menu, scroll down, settings -> log out(at the bottom)

I have noticed that the app doesn't recognize the next lesson the user would expect to attempt in a consistent manner... having just finished a course, the next lesson has defaulted to a lesson from a very basic course and won't update to reflect the course I am currently working through.

I found this too. Also it didn't register some of the lessons I finished after completion. One other thing is that the chess board you click to begin a lesson doesn't represent the position you start with in that lesson.

yes! what is with the giant circle? I have lost games because of it. feels like something for kids. I hate hate that it keeps telling me I must have Google play turned on to use it. vomitrous!

I use classic version for most log in's. New version is clumsy with many options not available. (Android) Most annoying is the flip/wide view does not work; leaving views and options unavailable. Does anybody there own a cell phone for playing online 1/3 day games?

What timelimits do you mean? For live chess? 

Flip/wide view? you can do flip in games though the options menu. Can you be more specific and describe your issues with more details? Thanks!

Looks like something broke the video search. Queries for 'All' and 'Amazing Games' return no results, the other searches I have tried seem to work fine.

No option to play unrated games in live chess. No option to switch Tactics Trainer to training mode (unrated). Cannot view stats, the app ALWAYS crash. Cannot view someones profile from forum threads. Many other bugs, deficiencies, and flaws.... To Chess.com - please dont fake your app rating and reviews. I know you can fake Facebook Likes etc, but this is too obvious. It is clearly not 4.2 stars.

Hello! There is an option to play unreated games in live chess mode.

Tactics trainer needs your rating to know which tactic to give to you. Every time you solve puzzle it gives you a next tactic based on your rating to improve your skills. If you want to train your skills w/o affecting rating, you can solve puzzles in forums. Or you can study lessons(but they are also rated).

Please report other bugs that you found and we will fix them. We don't fake our reviews, it's just impossible.

What version do you use? I don't see any crash from your username. 

I use Galaxy Note 2 and the latest version of your Android app. My Android is still 4.1.2 and I don't want to change it because I will lose some apps on the phone.

Unfortunately, I still have not found out how to play unrated games in Live mode on your Android app. Maybe you can explain how?

Also, the Tactics Trainer on the app does not allow for unrated practice, all the puzzles are rated, which is bad, because for solving puzzles on the phone, it seems it is easier to get the puzzles wrong, and then LOSE rating points.

Piece of advice to all - Don't use the TT while waiting for the train or bus just to "kill time".

My other points stand - There is no way to view someone's profile by tapping their name in the Forum, based on their posts or threads.

The Classic (old) version of your Android app allows viewing of profiles. And I think it has more features than the new one.

Oh, and viewing my Stats on the new app will crash the app. 9/10 times. I don't bother to report this crash, because your new app has been really buggy since last year, and I only use the new app to view the forum. That is the only thing it does better than the Classic one.

Earlier, your new app got very bad reviews, and was like 3 stars (which is true, because the app is clearly not as good as the Classic version), and now suddenly, it has gained 4.2 stars. That is very fishy....

This is our app rating for one year: It's not sudennly bumped to 4.2

When crash happening on your device it is automatically reported to our crash tracking system, and i still don't see any crashes for your username.

The Classic version doesn't have any forums and profiles, so i guess you are talking about webview and website browsing.

To start Live unrated chess, go to New Game -> Challenges -> Create Challenge and turn "Rated" switch off.

I just sent Chess.com a crash report in ADDITION to one more I sent yesterday. The crash or freeze happens when I view Stats. If you still deny you received any crash reports, I can make a Youtube video as proof......although its obviously a lot of work for me for something that YOUR side should fix. Do you prefer that instead?

Hmm....that rating chart looks to have a suspicious bump from 3 stars to 4 stars sometime before the April 2014 line.... ;-) I truly don't believe it

Yes, you can purchase Facebook Likes....for cheap.....100k Likes for like..... $50.... I have an app developer friend who also has a popular app and he says such things are also possible for the app world....LOL.

But anyway, I don't care about how many stars the new app has. I just know for myself I will never give it 5 stars, in its present state....

[Edit: Edited my post on a desktop....to make lines and paragraphs, since forum posts on the app will always bunch all the sentences into one paragraph - another thing you might consider for future improvement]
