That all said, I use the mobile browser to do most everything not officially supported in the app and while I've had problems, nothing completely show-stopping yet.
andriod app update pushed out yesterday

Why can't loading games work (in news)? Imo, this is a major issue, I've reported for a couple of years. I would think many users log in, check out the news, and want to replay games of the latest event. But games do not load, error messages appear about utube video not supported.
Just to get to news, one has to click on the live orange cross, go to tournaments, then go to share, then go to news. This enables live play. Rediculas
Games load just fine in classic. I hope you guys don't stop supporting classic if you can't get the v3 right. Thank you

The main issue is that you are using the v3 app in a manner it wasn't really designed to support, at least at this juncture. Once you pop-out of the app frame, as you do when you go to that tournament link, any problems that occur are due to issues with the way the website works on on the embedded mobile browser (can't say exactly what part is being used there).
I haven't used the classic version since I installed v3 (in the beta days) and can't say how that works or if it loads a different embedded browser than the v3 version. I know that even in that version, trying to use the site in that manner, wasn't optimal and it was never designed to be (changing the screen rotation caused it to reload the tourney page and the menus didn't work correctly in landscape mode).
I can't say for sure if the features you want will ever be directly in the app but you would be better off verifying if they work in the mobile browser directly and if they do, using that. At least until the feature gets added to the app (not counting the embedded web feature) assuming that is something that will be added.

Thanks Martin for the straight up answers. And yea...landscape view, although it will load, is not usable. (Although with long presses on tabs, sometimes a feature will open)

Just read this thread. Sorry about the miscommunication, everyone! We WILL be adding news soon. And broadcast games. Good stuff in the works!

... Android users, let's hope continued support is given to classic. I assume no new code will be written for it, for fixes and improvements, but it is a usable app., comparable to the pc version.
No new code but at some point, the back-end code it is pointing to (v2 of the site) will go away. I assume when that happens, the classic app will no longer work.

The game link or any Web link sent in messages do not open.
Shity.
Thank you! We will review that case.

If you see only web interface that means that Live Chess Tournaments is not supported on your Android device. Unfortunately we are unable to support it on pre KitKat versions (pre 4.4). If you have newer device, please let us know and we will check your issue.
... How can it be called an update when eliminating supported features?
The update is/was to work with and be like the v3 version of the site. The developers keep adding features to the app but they have to make everything work with the v3 version of the site. Like v3, it was essentially a complete re-write of the app.
