But how is being rude "tough"?
See my profile.
I get angry, especially when I just do something stupid to lose, but I never vent it on the internet. I just give my cat a good swat and be done with it.
That's terrible!! Why hit a defenseless animal? You need mental treatment.
It's pretty much: "I feel hurt". If they take it out on you then they're blaming you, because it's much easier to blame you then themselves. If they abandon it's sort of like throwing something in anger and probably a lot more embarrassment as well, like they want to get away/hide from that which hurts them as fast as possible.
The funny thing is that some of them will start playing really aggressive and make things worse before abandoning. Like I was just playing an unrated game. They made a mistake, don't know if they realized it yet or they thought it was part of their plan, but because of it they blundered. Once this happened they just started throwing everything at me, everything for me to just take for free. And then you get those king moves where they move to a piece for some reason and then when they get there they realize they can't take it, or they start gobbling up all the pawns you don't need anyway. And then with them having 1 pawn left and the king surrounded by my pieces: "Auto-resigns in 0:...".
The last part is annoying, everything else is kind sad, but also funny, because that red mist just makes them play worse. Whereas if they'd just said: "Okay, I made a mistake, can I recover from this? Do I want to keep playing? Okay, how can I solve this?" they probably could've played a reasonable game still.
Sad because their bruised ego can't make them move past it.
Sorry to hear that, Lisa.
