Annoying way to win!

Whilst playing on chess.com, I discovered a rather cheeky way to win. I would offer a draw at the beginning of the game, then, if they decline, I would try my utmost best to get a perpetual check. Then, it seems to me that because my opponent has declined a previous draw, a threefold repetition doesn't work! Then I would rapidly continue giving checks until my opponent's time runs out. Any thoughts?

does it make you better at chess? no.

then stop doing it.

I would only do it if I must leave the game, rather than resign. Or if my opponent has berated me such as you have.

Problem with that other than not making you better at chess is you, 99% of the time, wont get a perpetual check your opponent has destroyed you and need to resign or if you need to leave. If you need to leave, why tf would you still waste time looking for a perpetual check if you need to leave ASAP?

I'm pretty sure they can complain
If not, your taking a risk. What if YOUR time runs out?

But I know an even sneaker way to win! Checkmate you before you can act like a spilt child's

Thank you for your insights, I will, of course, cease performing such a vulgar way to win at chess.

I have only ever used this trick once, and my opponent resigned after 10 seconds of perpetualness.

Why are you assuming threefold repetition draw does not work?

Your opponent is probably simply not claiming it

How do you claim?

i highly doubt someone would do that at the beginning of a game.

I do see it as a good way to deal with abusive players, or those players who do that "8 min left in the clock, let time run out" thing. Ask them to a rematch, and boom.

But still a rather sour technique.

Oh, my apologise for referring to you as a spoilt child, also.

Apology accepted.

Same button: it changes from an "Offer Draw" to a "Claim Draw" if a three fold repetition applies. Or if the 50 move rule applies. People often assume it's automatic, when it's not.

It's not an automatic draw OTB either.

3-fold still works regardless of whether you've rejected a draw in the past.  It just has to be claimed.

yes you should do it.  this server has some wankers who try to force repetition which makes their opponent forfeit 4 points.  This is a great hack to protect you from those wankers pullin' that crap anymore.

Yes... that's how it works. Every time a game ends in repetition, both sides lose 4 points.

Get your rating to 2000 and I will listen to your strategy.

Why can't your opponent just claim a draw... is it a glitch or somethin
