Anonymous was a GOOD thing.

I don't play a lot and my ELO is low, just for your information.

But ... when I'm not drunk I like to pop in to destroy some other anon for fun.

I've noticed this month (whatever) I can't just go to Chess.com from my not-logged-in browsers & have a quick game as "guest" anymore.

I want that back.

If on the day I seem to be OK at chess I'll pop across to my logged in browser and have a game or two. I can't easily do that right now.

Yes that's an emoji.

If someone can point me to the FAQ/Admin thread that explains the change I'd be grateful.

Thanks.

After you click play, click the level you want to play at (new to chess, beginner...), there is a very small option under the sign in and log in options called "play as guest".

I'm sure you are right, but that is irrelevant as an unlogged-in player can not get past the login/signup pages now.

Just clicking play on the sidebar doesn't work?
