Move on folks. Nothing to see here.

Happy checkmating!

Hmm.

If they all play the same trick opening, then you should study so that you learn how to counter the trick.

I looked at a few games and see you losing repeatedly to the wayward queen attack. Playing bots evidently didn't teach you what to do. It seems possible that a lesson or two may set you on the right path.

I do not agree that 1000 rated players will play the same tricks.

It's not that blocking the queen is hard or that I'm losing. It's easy and I'm still getting around 50% win rate. It's that it happens in 4/5 times playing with the same folks. When 80% of your limited playing time playing is the same first 5 moves, no one is learning anything.

I do not agree that 1000 rated players will play the same tricks. < I'm saying the same thing. Only low rated players play the same trick. My point is that I want to move beyond this and I'm not able to for 2 weeks now. I'm abandoning half of my games.

That's racist

How do you know what countries these people are from?

The flags are meaningless. Any player can choose any flag. A player wearing a US flag might be from Russia. Or from Pakistan. Or from France.

Do I sound Ukrainian?

El-Tamimi

The name, the flag, and the fact they keep asking me for my Instagram. happy.png

I love them, folks—I really do. But my only purpose is to spend the little time I dedicate to chess trying to play anything but to try to block a berserk queen. I don't care for ratings (which dropped due to me abandoning the game as soon as I see the Qh4 or Qh5). All I want is to learn chess with people who want to play chess in the little time we have, so I'm giving them the points and gave up on increasing my ranking.

Also, it would be a wild shot if you were dripping yourself in the Ukrainian flag if you weren't. It would be much crazier if the dozens I played with all put on that specific flag to confuse me.

Big accusation Mr/Ms worldwide. Mind explaining or do you wish to win some social credit accusing a brownie like me of hating other brownies?

Some people choose the flag of the country they live in. Also he has the Ukrainian flag because… you should know.

Just like me. I have the Canadian flag but can’t you guess where i’m really from? I live in 🇨🇦 so.
El-Tamimi

Buddy, not sure why this self-righteousness is coming from. I don't care what one's nationality is. I know that when I see one flag, the game is mostly queen-chasing. When I see any other flag, it's a game. Had they been Kuwaiti (like me), I would want to play with non-Kuwaitis

Super, people are putting Ukrainian, Palestinian.. etc flags for political reasons. What we are talking about here has nothing to do with political backing. I did not mention any specific nationality or remained courteous. You are arguing what is not being discussed here.

I'm close to giving up chess out of frustration, with 80% of my games going with no opening lines. I invite you to open a new account with the lowest rating and see what a tic tac toe it is.

chekagain

“It's easy and I'm still getting around 50% win rate”. That’s funny, on your stats it says you have a 38 percent win rate, which is far from half

El-Tamimi

Been abandoning all games my opponent is making Qh4 or Qh5 as a second move, hence my OP.

chekagain

I started at 400 , and guess what, I am know 1350. Do you know why? Because I took the time to learn how to defend against these games and realised that whilst games may be similar In the opening ( the whole point of openings) if you didn’t blunder M1 they would turn out unique. Openings are supposed to look similar, that’s why people play them, because they know others have played them before

El-Tamimi

I'm not sure you understand how low 250 is. I know how to move the pieces, learned a few openings and my only hope is to apply them. If I get to 750, then mission achieved.

I have my first and last name in this thread and I'm being accused of bigotry. Wish there was a way to delete it and I'll stick to my VR shooting games. suits my temperament more.

Thank you for the advice in anyway

blueemu

Here's a PRACTICAL suggestion:

Join a club. Play only against other club members.

There are THOUSANDS of clubs on this site. I'm sure you'll find one where this "Berserk Queen" opening is rarely or never played.

Try The Oracles.

Oracles - Chess Club - Chess.com

More than 1200 members, so it's not hard to find an opponent. And they're moderately serious about playing chess.

You sound like a virtue signaler sporting that flag. If you really want to help, why not go over there and fight? Or don't Canadians do that?

Actually, I've been sending then part of my pension.

What's your contribution?

Hint: The word "pension" may suggest the answer to your question.

"Germans are structured, Indians are insisting, Americans are superficial". That looks like your kind of oversimplistic thinking, that on a grand scale, damages the world. If you have not travelled enough or lived abroad, I can tell you that reality is a lot more nuanced. People matter a lot more on individual level, not to mention more subtle things that someone might look nice and not be it at all once you get to know them, and viceversa. Also, as pointed out, flags here can be made up so might even be blocking wrong countries.

Hope you have a nice day.

El-Tamimi

Wait a second. Did I just generalize? I was blind, and now I see, thanks to you enlightening me on what that meant. Before your valuable input, I thought that individual differences were dwarfed by cultural norms, but I was lazy. I painted in the dark with the broadest brush. Your downvoting my comments has only made the world slightly a better place and shown what a great person you are.

Funny thing is, when I chat with them "targeted group" before starting the game about what I expect them to open with, what I get back is laughter and good natured banter. But what do any of us know compared to you and your cosmopolitan life experience.

Thank you once again and I hope you have a wonderful day, Mr. T.

You do have a LOT of free time, don’t you?

Actually, I hadn’t downvoted you, but thanks for giving me the idea 😊
