The people who got into the Champion league first scored more than 20,000 trophies in a week.
I see you scored 1,086.
You should work on getting up to 10,000 or 15,000 in a week so you will be ready when the announcement comes.

There's nothing to expect unless you make it to Legend. There will eventually be events and prizes there, but last I knew, no details have been realeased about that yet. I doubt there will be anything for lower leagues after that initial contest ended.
