Apple Vs. Android

If anyone could shed some light on a problem I'm having, I would greatly appreciate it. I and my family have both ios and Android devices. We have no problems playing between ios devices (such as iPad Vs. Touch), or between two android devices. Everything works great. However, whenever I play an online game across platforms, this problem arises without fail.

In instances where I am playing online, but both parties are actively playing (basically, live chess without the timer), whenever the ios device makes a move, that move will NOT show up on the Android device unless the player leaves the game (goes out to the lobby) and then re-enters the game. Then, and only then, will the move made by the ios player show up on his board.

For example, my father and I like to play without a timer, so we choose online play and I send him an invite. He accepts and the game begins. He will make the 1st move (assuming hes white) and I'll see it. I will then make a counter move, and no matter how long he sits there, the move will NOT show up on his device unless he goes out of the game and comes back in. Does anyone know of a solution to this most annoying problem to an otherwise awesome application?

I want to stress that this does NOT happen when both players are on Apple devices, nor does it happen when both players are on Andriod devices. It doesn't matter WHAT the devices are either, it never happens when both players are on the same platform. However, if both players are on DIFFERENT platforms, the Android device will NEVER show the opponents move. It doesn't matter WHAT Android device it is either. It happens on ALL android devices I've used (about a dozen) when playing against an IOS device.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Is there anyone else that can test this and see if there is a workaround possible? Thanks
