Actually, I played only 800 games. The current rate at which I mean I COULD be 2000. I did not say I was 2000 at all. I still state it is a theory.

By the way, I am closing my account bye.

Did we just make him close his account? If so I feel a little bad, but probably not it's likely there are other reasons.

No worries, quite normal here... Prolly he just gonna open another, not so "hot", one...

Ok, but I don't understand why hot is in quotation marks

Well b/c of hot for him, only wink.png

My rating is 559. I just lost 4 in a row to players as low as 441. But I have beaten Antonio 1500, Pierre 1500, and had a draw with Wendy 1500. So I would say the bots ratings don't compare to humans. I have also beaten all the 1400s with black and white multiple times. But the bots at that level play a little more traditional I think. My human opponents play wild attacking moves that I don't know how to deal with yet.

Don

I'd say bots are around 400 points overrated.

ninjaswat

Until the bots are say 2200 plus, they're around 200 points below their normal rating (for 1500-2000 bots) but if they're U1500 they're like 500 points lower rated...

Moises_pasteis

I'm currently 580, and I regularly win the 700-1100 bots, and even won some against the 1200-1500 ones, but very less often. Maybe there's something with me being more nervous when playing against real people, but I think the bots rating are a bit less than it's shown (or at least that's my experience)

Reave_rs

Maybe something is wrong with me but no. I can easily defeat 1200 elo bot. And I am hardstuck on 550 elo (yes I'm not the best player xd). I don't know what's the exact problem. But when I play vs 550 elo bot he just ignores my attacks and can't do anything vs me at all. While real players on this elo play pretty good. Even though sometimes they make stupid mistakes, they won't let you make a fork or chekmate them easily.

If you play the bots in "3 Kings" mode (no takebacks, hints, etc.), you should get a game that matches the bot ELO consistently.

No actually it's very different...

glueShoe

Yep. The strongest game is the 3 Kings mode. No takebacks, no hints, etc.

I haven't played too many rapid games recently and i have improved quite a lot with tactics. My rapid is 1575 (but properly higher), as i can beat all the bots up to Li, and have beat The Levy bot, Anna Cramling bot and Alexandra Botez bot. I have had my rating estimated at 2100ish and am only 15! So i am not completely sure if they do completely reflect but i estimate it within 100-150 elo. I suppose most of the bots play similar openings (QGD, Sicilian, D4, e4, Nimzo, QID, KID)

So they can't be all that accurate... either that or I am an undiscovered chess prodigy, lol

bro i am 956 and cant even beat the 1300 bot

tejas_playz

these things are not acurrate i am 956 ok i admit the 1100 bot is a litttle hard but i can best the 1100 bot and the 1000 bot is a piece a cayk

also i know i spelled cake wrong

Moises_pasteis

the thing about the bots I think it's that they are always consistent in some way. Like, a human player (800-900) may be very inspired at times, may blunder a not so obvious move. The bots have a "style" that doesn't surprise, so they're not a very good metric

(currently I'm 780 on rapid and I'm playing agains the 1600-1800 bots)

paxrosales

I do not know, maybe or maybe not I guess it is because most of the high rated bots I play are kind of hard to beat.

glueShoe

I've tested several of the 2450 ELO rated bots against Droidfish limited to 2300 ELO engine strength. It's a mixed result. About half losses and wins. My thinking is that since the Komodo bots are designed to select moves that simulate more "human-like" play, they tend to play in an ELO *range around the stated ELO. Thus, a 2450 ELO bot will play in an approximate range of 2300-2450 ELO. That likely applies across all the Komodo bots perhaps in slightly varying degrees based on the individual tweaks of the bot play style.

MerlinS555

How do you play against the Komodo bots on chess.com?

FIipFIops

just beat a 2000 chess bot(he blundered and lost but still) feeling good.

no takes backs

nice(writing to keep me happy)

Vibhansh_Alok

chesshypermaster
