If you are pinned, don't move until it's over.

But that's more of a relationship advice, really.

That’s fascinating. Tell me a bit more about that one. I’m not sure if I understand 100%

Sacrifice everything, it might be checkmate

Love it! Thanks for sharing these resources.

PS: Kasparov’s book is fantastic. About 10% in.

General chess principles are Dogmatic. Learn Chess from Legends. Similarly don't listen to anyone's Opinions. Learn from Legends. (Aristotle, Confucius, Gandhi, etc)

Hard to understand why some don't like him. He's very agreeable!

I can't understand why some parents introduce chess too early to their kids. A few as young as 5. 5 year olds can't understand mating position. Especially 2 Queens mating with 1 King. And why a Queen is sacrificed to promote a Fresh Queen.

Awesome quotes! Wrote them down.

My son is 4 so he can’t really understand grand strategy or anything like that. However, he knows how the pieces move, what they are called and how to set them up.

I create little games like pawn races that he can grasp. Trying to keep it as fun as possible.

Introduce Checkers to him. The concept is easy. Eat everything like Pacman.

I learnt at 4 and loved it. I did have trouble with some mating position, but that didn't prevent my dad and bro to get tired of me wanting to play on.

Sac promotion tactics are completely unnecessary to enjoy the game and also fly far above the head of most adult casuals (who do enjoy the game)

i agree with 4. just because kids might not understand tactics and certain structures does not mean the game can't be fun for them.

plus, what bong writes assumes there will be absolutely no kids that will understand these things at an early age.

actions have consequences , this applies to life and chess

pawns are the soul of chess  and in life no society can flourish without those unsung heroes who daily work to keep the king in his castle
