hahaha great !! ^^
Are there any girls who play chess?..

SEriously

As far as I know up to now most of the chess players are men. Is there any girl here who plays chess?..
No there are not, and even if they shouldn't. Girls were born for the kitchen and to make laundry. Maybe a little backyard work too..
boiii i guess you've never played a girl because they are scary good sometimes
it's the exact same thing across both genders, there's no reason girls can't play chess
Scary good!!! hahhahaha that is the best joke ever. A girl can never defeat a guy in a chess game and even in any other sport..
We are the best..

Guess what! We're not the best! You should know that by now! There are plenty of girls that can play chess and are good. You're just making your own gender turn against you. Though if I must be honest, I've never played a girl in real life that I haven't beat... but that's probably just because they don't use chess.com.
how many girls have you played? either you're really good, or you haven't played many. still though, well put

Wikipedia:
"The Women's World Chess Championship (WWCC) is played to determine the women's world champion in chess. Like the World Chess Championship, it is administered by FIDE.
Unlike with most sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee, where competition is either "mixed" (containing everyone) or split into men and women,[1] in chess women are both allowed to compete in the "open" division (including the World Chess Championship) yet also have a separate Women's Championship (only open to females).[2]"
I wonder if they permit gender choice in Women's Chess.
I know that the Women's division of the Boston Marathon is going to have some biological males.
I think that's great. It reminds me of a couple of decades ago when they had the Special Olympics wheelchair race: There were about 10 crippled individuals all lined up at the starting line, and bang, they're off! Immediately one of the crippled wheel-chair bound participants then uses his legs and feet to sit/speed walk, pulling him way ahead of all the other crippled participants who could only use their hands.
Obviously the leg and feet guy had a huge advantage, and it took me about 20 years to figure out how I would have handled that.
Here's my solution: Give the guy the trophy, then immediately have a second race for participants who could not use their feet and give them another "first place" trophy.
As for the MMA "woman" who, born a biological male, beat the living daylights out of the reigning champ bio-woman, I think that is a missed reality check on society.
They're starting to have maximum testosterone level checks, you can't have more than x amount of testosterone for y amount of time. At least that's a reasonable attempt to fix the problem. But then I think a lot of bio-males should be able to compete with women, meaning men who don't have a lot of testosterone, and without having to "identify" as a woman. Just let them compete against women if their testosterone is low as a woman. There's no way I could compete against regular guys in tennis, but I have a chance in the woman's league, so why shouldn't I have that "equal" chance?
how does testosterone effect the game of chess? that doesn't make sense

I once played a young teenage girl at a chess tournament. I thought it would be easy because she was wearing some makeup and figured she can't possibly spend much time studying chess. So I decided to toy with her a bit and make her sit at the board and think hard about her moves. However after about one hour of play she got the upper hand on me because I was throwing her tactical tricks and hoping she would fall for one of them, but she cleverly avoided my traps and then counter attacked me while slowly gaining an advantage. It was embarrassing. I finally gave up with a gracious handshake knowing that I could beat her easily under normal conditions, but that she had used female mind games to deceive me.
maybe........ she was better than you...... ever consider that........

alright sorry for the spam i was mad about all the rampant sexism in this thread and the fact that hegamania tried to start an argument
A little science might explain the difference between male and female performance in chess:
Relationship between testosterone supplementation and insulin-like growth factor-I levels and cognition in healthy older men.
Abstract
BACKGROUND:
Our laboratory has previously reported that testosterone (T) administration to older men significantly improves cognitive function. This study examined potential changes in insulin-like growth factor (IGF) IGF-I, IGF-II and IGF-related binding proteins in response to T administration in older men and their relationship to cognitive functioning.
METHODS:
Twenty-five healthy community dwelling volunteers, ranging in age from 50-80 years were randomized to receive weekly intra-muscular (i.m.) injections of either 100 mg T enanthate or placebo (saline) for 6 weeks. Serum hormone levels and cognitive functioning was assessed at baseline and twice during treatment.
RESULTS:
Significant positive associations between IGF-I and IGF-II and spatial memory, spatial reasoning, and verbal fluency were observed after 6 weeks of T administration. Increased serum T levels from treatment were positively associated with improvement in spatial reasoning performance, whereas estradiol was associated with a decline in divided attention performance. Serum IGF-I, IGF-II and IGFBPs did not change in response to T treatment.
CONCLUSIONS:
Our results suggest that T, estradiol and IGF-I may have independent and selective effects on cognitive functioning. Positive associations between T levels and cognition are consistent with an effect of androgen treatment, whereas positive associations between IGF-I levels and cognition are reflective of a relationship between endogenous IGF-I levels and cognition.
And since people with a biological support for doing better at something are more likely to want to do it, we have the reason for the participation difference among males and females in chess.

interesting. didn't expect that.
