ARE YOU A CHESS BULLET FAN??

Then this is the place for you! Tell me why you like bullet, what your current rating is, and what rating you would like to achieve! Hopefully this thread will encourage more people to play bullet!

I like bullet because it is fast-paced, hilarious, (when my opponent and I blunder stupidly and I only discover when I analyse my game) and you can play many different games in a short while: a great way to continually try out your chess ideas and openings on many different opponents. Unfortunately, having only played bullet for about a month, my rating is only 1200+. I’d really like to achieve 2000 by improving my rating by +1 each day.

I like it because... I guess because in a slow game you have all these ideas and variations you keep bottled up inside your head. In bullet it's like stream of consciousness. You can just let the moves flow out of you.

It's also gratifying when... like if I see a 4 move pattern and go for it, and my opponent instantly blocks it. It's like you're speaking the same language. You're posing each other problems that are on your level, not too hard or too easy (if the skill levels are near).

Jokes aside I like it because it’s like a chess variant and it is like a real war, with huge twists .And people never give up, unlike regular chess where down a piece, the result will be decisive.

I used to play bullet chess, but i stop playing as it hurts my chess.

How does it hurt your chess? It should improve your chess! And what do you mean when you say “chess”, exactly?

Bullet is bad for your chess. Play it for fun, and if you're serious about improving, don't play it at all.

 

You can still improve of course, but it's not ideal, at all.

 

bullet leads to superficial thinking and laziness.  it can weaken your calculating ability. no, it will not improve your chess.

How about blitz? I guess I don’t know much about this topic...

you can improve your game with blitz. but longer time control is better for improvement. try 10  or 5 minutes blitz(the longer the time control the better) and you will appreciate more the depth of chess. You will appreciate more your wins.
