Oh, shut up.

afistfullofsardines

that'll cost you money, I don't take requests.

I actually like closed positions...the narrowing of possible moves makes planning easier.  Also, you can play closed positions against stronger players, try for a win, and often force a draw even if your attack does not pan out...

A bonus is that stronger players do not expect weaker ones to actually understand closed positions, and thus overconfidence sometimes results.

There are some pretty nice Lasker and Rubinstein closed positions games that are worth looking at.

Not afraid, but slightly annoyed. I like action and fireworks 💥

This. I love closed positions because not only is planning easier, but there’s also much less to calculate.

I encounter this position as white after 10...h6 against the KID.  I have tried both 11.Bf6, and 10.Bh4 with similiar results.  I prefer 10.Bf6 but am wondering if one is that much better than the other?

Maybe you meet this position in a Ruy Lopez Steinitz?

What kind of KID is this with a white pawn at c3?

Kids these days...
