Improving is hard, making the same mistakes is no fun. Cry

I'm a bit embarassed that the NSA knows about all my blunders

Hard to say you make the same mistakes. Unless of course you have been in the exact same situation enough times to complain about it :P

At which point I would highly advise that you rethink something regarding your strategy..

I stopped correspondence because it started hindering my studies, my free time.

I have also noticed that I don't go for many OTB tourneys now either.

Yes, chess is a waste of time. I am going to make millions of dollars, travel the world, drink great wine, and have lots of women. Chess will get you no where in life, unless your idea of fun it to sit in front of a computer for hours every day and waste your life.

Then what are you doing here ?

Me quit chess? Not this time around. I just got a draw against a computer on FICS rated in the 1700s...so I think my research has been paying off...but I'm not consistent enough...

Ah well, who said mistakes can't be fun?

I really like the fact that chess is ageless and keeps your mind sharp. However I am getting tired of not progressing and losing. I have given playing games up indefinitely, but still find problems challenging.
