Are you risky?
“Risky” sounds like a little unnecessary danger and this is manageable, but perhaps not that great in chess. “Reckless” sounds even worse for chess. You have to play the needs of the chess position. If the position is good for an attack, then you attack and if it is good for patience, then you play patiently.
I will say though, there’s a related element of “ambition” instead of recklessness and I notice that many of the better chess players also play ambitiously. They go into the best moves and variations with less fear of not finding the correct path. I recommend playing chess ambitiously too, but not necessarily recklessly.
A lot of the time it doesn’t work out, but it’s fun to experiment every now and again.
I certainly pay against a lot of aggressive players which intimidated me at first, but not so much now.
