It's called "inductive reasoning." Feminists and anyone who holds any opinion other than what they demand cannot be tolerated. They will find a woman who lifts weigts somewhere and prove that men are no stronger than women. They will cite a murder in some rural area that had no crime in ten years and claim anyone who is afraid to go to a crime infested neghborhood are nothing but racists and bigots.
According to Graham Burgess no more than 5% of all chess players are women. They will find one exception to the rule in Judit Polgar who could hold her own against the strongest male players and conclude that only women haters would point out that after puberty boys outstrip girls in chess because it isn't politically correct. One could go on ad nauseum but in the world we live in reality should not be expressed unless it fits the agenda of those who demand everyone think exactly as they do.

The high blitz ratings are fine (maybe I'm too trusting?) but the ladies who put those model-type pictures, yeah, I'm suspicious also.
When my brother and I were kids, he found out when online, if you select a female avatar, people are much nicer to you... and in MMORPG games that can be a big help, so he'd always do it (nothing creepy is what I'm saying)... because there are also the creepy kind heh.

Yeah I always wondered about this, it doesn't sound surprising. Never actually got around to trying anything like that myself.
To be totally honest my guess would be that it's generally advantageous to be a female in these situations. Sure there are people that will say something sexist, but these people are easy to dismiss, you can claim moral superiority to them, and you will always have a team of white knights around you. And sometimes there are (probably) only white knights around you and no bullies, as bullies are never as common as non-bullies. They might focus on your "prettiness," but if you're a male they just don't give a shit about you, so I know which option I'd choose.
To add to my post #37: With that said, this situation is made possible by the fact that there are a lot of men desperate for a woman's approval.

Is it sexist for me to say, based off evidence, women aren't as good at chess as men are? The evidence indicates that this is the case at the top levels.
Except for Polgar, whom many cherry pick as the golden girl of chess, and Hou Yifan soon, where are all the 2700 female chess players? There should be, or at least expected to more than a few female contenders, but there's not.
The answer probably lays in some mixture of biological and environmental factors, but it's not clear to me why this is the case.
Women can play chess well, obviously, but we may find soon some processes that lead to men somehow being better than women at chess at the higher levels.
I'd like to see the distribution of female players in the chess population to help shed some light on the situation.

Why are so few Americans in top level chess? Are Americans biologically worse at chess? Something with the brain? Or does some kind of social explanation make sense? Do talented kids really stop playing chess to pursue other careers? Are tournaments not as available for one reason or another?
And do any of these apply to the same question about women?
