Ask Me Anything (AMA) session with Grandmaster Axel Smith

Wait what
The quotes broke?
Hmnn looks like it; let me check with the team!
lemme try
based on the internet and how you're formatting the text but its been buggy lately

I've got 4 bars
it's been really finicky so I wouldn't worry too much about it
if u want to quote someone actually quote them like this:
"Sans1600: I've got 4 bars"
it's not practical but it's going to have to do. sorry I can't do more to help

Would you recommend being a coach for low rated players in an effort to increase your rating and help others do the same simultaneously?
Not for improving (even though it is at least slightly helpful), but doing it to help others is enough of an argument, if you also enjoy it.
I can work with that!
What are you saying? I'm confused.

quotes are broken for them so its going to look confusing. I believe they said "I can work with that!"

So are they asking for help or wish to help others?

no they said that they are good with the information given, but I'm unsure of what they exactly meant lol

on further inspection, they're probably agreeing with "Not for improving (even though it is at least slightly helpful), but doing it to help others is enough of an argument, if you also enjoy it."

I'm gonna be coaching people with similar elo to me, anywhere below 500 and I'll coach.

Respectfully, you shouldn't be "coaching" ANYONE 500 or lower, UNTIL you break 500 yourself, your rating is between 100-150, if you attempt to teach someone else you will just be teaching them to do the same mistakes they already are doing. I have coached, and I know for a fact unless the student is 500 points lower than me at a minimum, they won't learn as much. Because a 1400 vs 1500 (myself) I could very well lose. Then what's the point if they can beat me? A under 1000 however, can very rarely beat me. So I can teach them and show them what mistakes they made, give them or train with them puzzles focusing on their mistakes etc etc. And of course, doing it all for free. I completely understand if you don't agree with this, but I do hope you will at least read it and try to. And if you do want to break 500 come talk to me. I can def help gain elo below 800. And can teach something below 1000. - Anthony.

very valid point. but they might be good irl who knows

"Those who can't do, teach." Is what I quote for this.
So it makes sense to yourself for a man who is just learning to drive to teach a race car driver how to make better time?
