My main question is, at what ELO bot becomes accurate?
Since it's a 3000+ engine playing, the way they make it lower is to force it to blunder (one way or another, for example limiting calculation time or depth).
So in a sense, the answer to your question is the bots are never accurate. They will always play some bad move on purpose, it's just the higher the rating, the less frequent and less significant the inaccurate moves are.
Play progressively harder bots. If you win a little less than 50% of the time, then that's the bot that's pretty challenging for you.
Hello,
I recently started playing chess after 15 years of hiatus. One month ago I was terrible, now I am slowly improving. I play both humans and bots. However, I struggle with people of about my ELO or more (say from 600 to 800), and I actually enjoy these games a lot, I win and I lose. When I play bots to practice, I managed to beat Antonio (1500) and the engine (1600) in various opening positions, both with three stars. I had a hard time, but I beat those bots. From 250 to Nelson (curse him, but at least he taught me to defense), which is 1300, I can win easily.
My main question is, at what ELO bot becomes accurate? A 1200 bot can blunder something that a 500 ELO player will not. What is the best BOT that is consistent to challenge myself?
