Awhile back I was at a friends house and I noticed that there was something strange about her paperback books. Looking directly at any one of them you wouldn't notice anything unusual but set one down on the table and there was this weird sheen like the light rays coming of a comic book characters impenetrable shield. What the....
Yup, all of her paperback books had received a lovingly applied clear contact paper shield. So I told Carol of a particularly abused brand of book called the chess book (many of which lived on my shelves) and could she show me how to apply this healing book balm. She did and I'm here to share this magic with you.
For $3.95 at your local supermarket you can snap up a roll of clear contact paper that will cover well over 20 large paperback chess books. It's even pretty easy to apply (after the first one). Most modern paperbacks have anti-stick covers, so if you get air bubbles you can just pull the layer of contact paper back and try again.
It's easy as Kat Von D at a Motley Crue concert.
