Austrian flag = Nazi

So I was just playing against an Italian kid, he took my queen in the beginning of the game (I made a stupid move) but I still managed to beat him. The match was therefore really interesting and it was him with a queen vs. me without queen. I wrote "Good player!" in the chat because I thought the match was interesting and I 'felt' his way of playing somehow. But he just responded with "[removed -- MOD] Nazi". That's very sad. You think that's normal? I have family everywhere in Europe, in fact I am even Italian to a major part and my family fought against the Nazis, some of them got executed for that (in exchange, a street bears our family name). I would therefore like to report that user, where do we do that?

I can't help you with the report, but like you it astonishes me how many troglodytes there are on here..What's with these animals.... It a fun game with someone you don't know and probably never will. Some you win some you lose. He's a sick little kid. Don't let it bother you.

@Ageiswisdom I agree with you, but remember that in all social contexts, it's always the stronger and more dominant group of people that will in the end, well, dominate the public space in some way. So let's fight back and let's not allow these people to spread – like you said, there's many of them on here already, let us take up more space in this public space by reporting them and 'fighting' back against them, in order to make this place a better place! You see, that would be a good chess move, so let's apply our tactical skills to real life.

People are awful. Battling them is about as effective as swatting at the sea to stop the tide from coming in.

Interesting, Italy is .407 - what exactly does that figure mean?

in a nutshell the redder the country is, the more racist it is

You should just forget it and move on, because you know, maybe kid was having bad day because we never know the stranger's life on internet. If you are winning queen in beginning and ended up losing the game im sure  would kinda feel bit angry too, because blunder always make chess player pissed.

And maybe, just maybe he felt offended by "Good Player!" chat. i think if player loses a game and get praised by the enemy, he would feel underestimated. of course it's not normal thing to do,i do agree he was bit harsh  but we gotta see from different perspective in a problem! so i think just forgive and forget it. Aint big deal

@Freddy_Sirait19 I agree with you, although I had sent the message before I won / the game ended. (I sent it in the middle of the game I believe)

People make such remarks so the recipient will get upset and hopefully go crying on the forums. If you react, they win.

Just ignore it, you put out a fire by depriving it of oxygen, not by throwing fuel on it.

I was called a Negro and a gypsy two days ago by a Romanian.I promptly reported with a screen shot of the chat and his account was closed immediately.Do report with a screen shot of the game chat window and it will be taken care of by staff.I have generally seen that Americans trash talk a lot here,Briton's comes next (but usually very polite) and Europeans resort to racial slurs. So the above article and consensus hold true. Its sad but happens in the web world.

Yes I understand that, what i am querying is what the .407 represents. Is it the percentage of those questions in the psychological test that those tested answered which indicated a negativity towards 'blackness' whatever thats supposed to be.

I reject these social constructs of black and white.  I have never seen a black man and I have never seen a white man and the sooner that we dispense with these fake values and simply employ terms like human being, the better.

The auto moderator should have caught that, warned the user and prevented you from seeing it.

However, you can report.

This is a totally discriminatory statement against red people.

Ziggy_Zugzwang

I was called a communist because I said I admired Russian chess players but I'd like to say my grandfather fought against the Bolsheviks in Operation Barbarossa during 1941 so I find this insulting as I do some who may insinuate I've been waiting for a moment of contrived outrage to bask in the reflected glory of family members who have nothing to do with playing chess on a forum in 2017.

Our PIB is mostly smoke. You can't spend the whole History neglecting research and development and pretend it doesn't matter.

Interesting, though sounds like a brat that made the initial comment.  Interesting though that my father fought against the Nazi's, like the OP's family. .glad we won; amazing that some still support that ideology.

MOD - you can be bothered to censor but can't be bothered to answer the question and help the player?  That's like a man going into an emergency room with a bad cut, asking for help and the nurse saying: "Your tie isn't on straight."
