auto resign sometimes never shows??

When I’m playing sometimes auto resign never comes up, so I’m waiting sometimes 5-8 minutes (until their time runs out) in a 10 minute game, as they have stopped playing for some reason!?? Is this a fault?

Sort of but when someone doesn't disconnect, there's no way for chess.com to figure out if someone is just thinking.
