Automate!

Interesting. I honestly never knew (until now) that a certain level of forum activity was required to join chess.com beta club. I wasn't sure about joining, but when I decided to join beta: I was accepted with no difficulties. Obviously my frequent roaming the forums has finally proved to have a real purpose grin.png

KeSetoKaiba, you misunderstood, the certain activity on forums isn't to join the chess.com Beta club but rather to switch on the Beta setting for your account. I don't really understand what enabling the Beta setting is about but I assume it gives you some type of chess.com Beta perk.

Oh okay. Yeah, I never have trouble switching into Beta setting whenever I want to either. Thanks for the clarification though: yeah, I misunderstood it the first time around.

If you don't enable the setting you don't get access to any of the beta features and you'll automatically be removed from the club after a short time.

You get some access to new features, like variants, automate, play (BETA). All of them are from beta.

Do you guys have a certain strategy that works for you? I seem to not be the best at this, any suggestions or tips?

GM_chess_player

Automate? Just spam bishops and its guaranteed to work. (Unfortunately, they raised the bishop value, so...) Use knights and bishops, maybe with some rooks. I think queens are useless in automate.

blueblimp

I have no idea what I'm doing, and am not even reacting to opponent placement, but somehow have not lost yet (only wins and draws). A combination that seems to work pretty well is: 10 pawns, 6 knights, 1 queen.

GM_chess_player

Yeah knights seem to be OP now that they raised the point values of the bishops.

Amitpir

automate is a lot of fun!

Amitpir

and I agree that knights are OP. I think one queen and knight spam is enough to win most games. The only question I have is whether it is worth it or not to put all 8 pawns.

The engine runs in your local  browser, so faster computers have an advantage.

athlblue

No they dont

BabYagun

The engines run on servers.

Not true, look at your CPU usage or open chrome task manager and you can see they run locally.

The engine on Automate is really bad engine don't play good chess. I lost every single game I create a good position and the computer don't know how to play with 4 bishop 2 knight 8pawns 1 rook and one king i lost the game. Computer make bad move.

GMKronicon

What engine use on Automate. Why not the people play the move instead the computer you create your dream position and then play. Because this computer sucks.

We have this in our To Do list.
