on my previous account I paid for lessons and did the puzzles and never broke 1200. here I am again getting close but wipers! I tend to blunder my queen frequently, but I was wondering what tips you all have for improving. openings? I like the Vienna. middle game, endgame? idk. what do you do to get to 1600 (play better, duh!)

"lessons" ++ Good

"puzzles" ++ 4 puzzles is a good warm-up before you play, but in a real game nobody tells you there is a tactic, or for whom

"never broke 1200" ++ Analyse your lost games and learn from your mistakes.

"I tend to blunder my queen frequently" ++ Always blunder check before you move.

"openings?" ++ No. You do not win or lose because of the opening, but because of tactical mistakes.

"Vienna" ++ Good

"middle game" ++ You cannot really study the middle game, you can play and analyse your lost games. You can also study annotated grandmaster games.

"endgame?" ++ Yes, that is very useful.

Concentrate on developing pieces, don't care abt the opening, atleast initially. Play longer time controls and take time to find tactics. Use your king in the endgames. Watch GothamChess.

Actually the chess.com lessons arnt great they are helpful but meh lol they may explain theory but don't typically explain how to play endgames that are drawn or when your under time pressure

to be fair, I play too fast
