it was a fair play violation, so you can rule out anything that isn't.(verbal abuse, spamming, etc.)
if you were warned about the sandbagging, and stopped, that is not likely either.
getting caught for previous computer assistance seems the most likely.
@ChesswithMrNikolay was already caught though. Almost 3 years ago.

Most of them were made for somewhat reasonable reasons. Ones like chesswithkolyao and chesswithkolyao were made to play with a friend. The only exception is probably stephan (mute evasion) and the YouTube one (promotion).
But 2 years is quite a long time, especially with things being as easy as tracking an IP. Besides, I believe they allowed me to make a 2nd account in a message.
OP wrote a book, didn't he?? I saw an erroneous statement therein---- he claimed that he "could have cheated to win money" at Chess.com money events (or a Diamond membership)...WRONG! From what I've heard, Chess.com has VERY particular cheat-detection software programs in place to prevent that very thing from happening (since, after all, money events are where people notoriously try to cheat). Also, his alt-accounts are kind of obvious; they're close in name to theoriginal account. Why not at leasr be creative? But all of this is a moot point, since Chess.com bans accounts for a reason(s); there might be "false Mutes" out there, but not false bans...
