I'd just add to the post by Philidor_Legacy that Humphrey Bogart was stronger than 1900, Ray Charles was stronger than 1600 without sight of the board his entire life (obviously, and impressively), and Che Guevara was more of an evil genius than I had thought.

It would be cool if these celebs should use their name and fame to promote the game some more.
a lot of celebrities play chess. My fave is Tom Cruise and charley sheen.
