It's interesting that 1.d4 d5 2.e4 does so well in that database when pretty much no one I have ever run into has anything good to say about it. The dadtabase here at chess.com gives the same varation almost the same score..SO should I learn it?
Best chess openings
Alison27, the Blackmar Diemer Gambit is not very often played because 1...d5 is a weak move for black. Should black play 1...d5, your best move is indeed 2. e4.
"Against 1. d4 (Queen's Pawn Opening), 1...Nf6 is black's best reply. 1...g6 and 1...d6 are also quite good for black. 1...d5 is a very common reply but not as successful for black. 1...f5 (Dutch Defence) and 1...b5 (Polish Opening) are both bad for black."
Here is a fun link I found that is very informative. It lists the 10 best opening to play (white or black), 10 worst openings, as well as dozens of variations. It lists them according to win percentage. Study this to gain the upperhand right away.
