Hello,
I’m choosing a new wooden chessboard and I’m unsure whether 50 mm or 55 mm squares are the better option. For me, 60 mm feels too large and 45 mm too small, so the decision is really between these two sizes.
Visually, 55 mm looks more impressive, but 50 mm feels slightly easier to read — I don’t have to scan such a wide area with my eyes, and it seems a bit simpler to maintain an overview without missing anything.
Could you share your experience or preference between 50 mm and 55 mm boards? Is there some consesus?
