I played that till 1400, but now I like the Reti. Be careful with the Italian Game though, it has a lot of traps.

Italian is called sometimes “beginners opening” but it is not. It’s played upto super GM level.
White openings for beginners: Italian, London( if you do the london then many people might hate you), and the queen’s gambit
Black openings easy edition: against e4 is the Caro-cann or the Scandinavian, and against d4 play the kid which stands for King’s Indian defense and for everything else just develop.
Don’t depend on openings because they are not the most important. Follow the 20-40-40 rule which states, 20% study for openings and 40% for middle game and 40% for endgame
