Better online than Over The Board

Well, I started getting into chess since the start of january and decided to join the chess club at my school. We haven't played a lot because we just started having chess classes but, the few games I played I underperformed so badly.

Well, I'm only 800 rated and played OTB chess only a few times, but I don't know if that's a problem that happens to everyone or if it's on me.

Any thoughts on it would help, thanks.

Oh yea, I saw it after I analysed my games (I do it on lichess), I don't think I am doing the wrong thing to improve, but the problem I was talking about was about games I play in real life, I'm not really used to the chess board and some threats just flew through my head while I was playing

Also, I see everyone recommending longer times, but I don't really think that's the problem (the blitz and bullet games I play are for fun, nothing serious), I can keep up with the time while playing rapid and things I don't see aren't by time pressure.

Thank you for your advice, though!

Not sure is this the point but I am just rank 250 but i found out because of Online have move highlight it's harder to make blunder move.

It happens to me as well. OTB is tougher because opponents don't succumb to pressure and threats so easily as they do online. They fight till the very end.

I’m alright at longer games OTB but speed chess is where my weakness is at which is kinda ironic as blitz is my strongest time control online
