What was the biggest upset in www.chess.com?

Why is romantic love a sign of bourgeois decadence, Comrade? Because, Comrade, it represents a form of false consciousness.

i beat a grandmaster in a 2 0 game. That was a pretty big upset. She really just ran out of time though. My ass was about to be hers in two moves!

I think you've just posted on the wrong topic...

Actually I was thinking about something like "1100 defeats 1800"... Is there a game archive like this?

1100 beats 1800 seems too possible with a blunder or quick verses slow turn-based play....  i've been 1800 (once... once...) and i've got games with 1100 that i can blow.  i bet 1100 beats 2050 is more likely to be the tops for a true win. including time-outs... maybe 750 beats 2300.

750 beats 2300 would be very unlikely.... I would like to see the PGN of a game like this.

I know there is a record of biggest upset in tournaments, but i'm not sure about the whole site.

I'll look around... this would be a good idea in the future though.

I don't know about on here, but I read in a chess magazine about an online tournament monitored where a 1400 beat a 2200-2400 player, cannot remember his rating.  It was a Sicilian, the 1400 had the white pieces, and he played Rg1 on the 6th move, and the 2400 was shaking in his boots! lol.  That is an upset!

i think you are quite right.

colle-pirc

i m rated about 1400, and i beat a 2000~ rated player twice in a row recently!  one in a pretty static opening where i just got a passed pawn and he made a blunder in the mid game, giving up a really important pawn and giving me strong back rank mating threats, and in the rematch he made a terrifying knight sacrifice that i was only able to fend off with the help of another passed pawn!

i ll put both of them up here

here is the second a very exciting attack by black!

Shammyvamp
Yo, Colle.  Did he resign or what?
Gabriel_dCF
Wow, colle, fantastic games! I liked the second best though, really amazing.
