But a game we'd not end that way, made up position.
Bishop is best

Two knights cannot force mate against a bare king. Two bishops can. That does not mean that two bishops are superior to two knights in general. It means only that they are the better pair of minor pieces to have in that particular situation, i.e. when only the two kings remain beside them. The relative strengths of any opposing pieces always depends on the positions of the rest of the pieces and pawns (if any!) It is just especially varied and complicated where two or more minor pieces are being compared.
There is nothing wrong, most of the time, with favouring the two bishops over other pairings of minor pieces . That is what a majority of strong players does, for many reasons. But the fact that they can force checkmate is not the best of reasons for that preference.

Is it possible to force a mate with just a B and a N?
yes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bishop_and_knight_checkmate
i used to favor knights over bishops, but recently learned that while you cannot mate with 2 knights, you can mate with a pair of bishops (black and white). Knights are awesome, but bishop is best I say.
