Hi all ... SM here. Its been a long time since I posted any topics. I was just curious what you all thought on this one.

If you had to choose between one of the two, a bishop pair vs A bishop (of your choice) + a Knight ... what would you choose ...

Larry Kaufman, in his famous study of over 80,000,000 positions in the '90's, determined that the Bishop Pair was worth 0.5 Pawns more than Bishop + Knight.  Of course, like all value assignments, it depends on the board position.

He also determined the piece values were: Q = 9.75 P's, R = 5 P's, and B = N = 3.25 P's (separately from the Bishop Pair),
