I always prefer to be white when playing chess. I sometimes play with black to keep my skills up but a lot less thatn white. What is your favorite color to play with?

I'm with Matt, I do like to counter-attack.

I played a person who had a strong preference once, but no longer.  To me, a corollary to the Golden Rule is play as both colors equally.

for a good player, both should be equal

Obviously White is better.

white is an advantage but I've always prefered black because then I have choice of the opening

Technically, that's not the Trompowsky since the opponent has used an extra tempo. It's like calling 1 e4 c5 an English Opening for Black.

Playing equally seems the path to greatest skill.

I like playing white because I get to go first!

Brown, that is the colour of my pieces. Sometimes I prefer the lighter brown but at other times I prefer the darker brown.

i prefer white. I win more often with it. Just look at winning statistics. white wins roughly 10% more of chess games played than black.

Black does offer greater preparation though, and probably the 10% doesn't really matter at lower rated players' games.

why does it have to be about color. I'm all about affirmative action.

It depends on the situation because White when beginning the game has the initative and try to maintain the advantage while Black fights to gain initative thus control the way of the game goes.  So I see either side (white or black) as equal.  Sorry if I being vague, I just tired.

If I'm White, I choose the opening (sort of). If I'm Black, I (usually) commit my plans later. White and Black both fit my playing style.

Whoever does not prefer the white pieces is simply a beginner.

I disagree that with black you are only playing for a draw, Fischer proved that wrong many times.

You don't understand the point of people who make that statement. Theoretically, Black is playing for a draw since White has the advantage of the first move.
