blind to knight forks - Chess Forums

Been playing for a bit and I just can't get my head around the knight fork, it's like my brain can't comprehend the fork. Like I'm completely blind to them. Maybe it's the weird movement, but it's all Greek. Of course I see the normal rook and King fork but that's because i see it so often.

any way to help with this? Or just vision in general ?

Yep. Solve many hundreds of knight fork puzzles and they will jump off the board at you.

See how close the Knights are to you. If they haven’t reached the fourth rank in a middlegame, don’t worry, they’re probably not a danger. Save your energy for looking when the Knights become more active.

You should be checking *all* your opponent's pieces for all possible reply moves before you make your own move. Knight forks are actually one of the easiest combos to see. If knight forks really do confound you, Chess is probably not the game for you.
