1. is easy to adress on a technical point of view. (well, I guess it is)
2. technically, it is possible to implement different time controls.
Yet, I'm not sure the staff is willing to do it, because it means more to maintain, and more data to store. I'm not calling them lazy, it sounds perfectly reasonable that they would not make huge changes for a very small minority of the games played.
This being said, I don't support a rating for blinfold games.
The reason is that there is an obvious way to cheat in "blindfold" behind a computer screen : taking a board and moving the pieces. Even if rating on the site gives absolutely no priviledge, there are still some people that think successfully cheating makes them smart, and I don't want to encourage them by giving them an easy way to get an overinflated rating.
Besides, even if that problem does not really happen, it will release a herd of trolls in the forums : "I'm sure XXX is using a board", etc.
Still, giving the option for (unrated) blindfold games is an interesting idea.
I see that many people support the idea of having a blindfold rating. I do support it too, however there are some minor problems to overcome.
1. Both players should agree to play blindfold, at the moment, is only the blindfold chess set, which could also be used only by one, without the other player knowing that the first is using blindfold.
2. Would the rating be the same for all the time controls?
Other proposals?
