They probably just don't care about rapid. It's good too, since when you're 1800+ rapid, every other player you play is an engine user.

Simply false. Perhaps this used to be true. I have managed to win several games in a row at >1800 relatively recently. I broke 2000 as well, and while some people might be ... I don't think I am allowed to discuss this ... you know, I don't think it is as much as many people think.

I don't demand perfection solskytz but I'm not paying money to get cheated by some punk that's just going to open a new account after I report him. That's the problem here. Anyone on a mobile device can cheat, get "banned" then just open a new account with a different email. I could go in live right now and cheat til I get caught and be back on here cheating again within a couple minutes of getting my account closed. I know this because the last time I spoke about this issue, I was muted. I created a new account and told off the mod that muted me. That account was closed and my email locked. I made a new email and got right back on here. If a mod reads this and "bans" me again, I'll just come back. As long as this is possible, this site will never change.

i'm a lowbie and i was playing 30/0 games only
my chess coach told me to play 15/10 games exclusively at my level to maximize the quantity of games and to work getting through the opening- for example
he told me to save the longer games for my 2hr otb games at the club

i have played maybe 8-10 games at 15/10 whereas i would have maybe gotten 2/3 30 min games at best (30 min a a big commitment online- so much to go wrong)

what i do is try to friend those people who gave a good game, no dc's, etc. and maybe send a 30+ challenge if they are online at same time

otherwise, i'm sticking to 15/10 for now

Really, <Logozar>, the Rapid pool is clean now?

It's been ages since I played there. Maybe you'll convince me to go back.

Of course, I can play against YOU without any fear. I'm talking about playing the random user. It used to be a mess.

If it's really better nowadays I'd be delighted.

It's not about "thinking about it" - it's simply very unpleasant when it happens.

Thanks for the friendly warning :-) I'll think I'll follow it for the time being...

And by the way - I checked. Logozar did break 2000 in Rapid - and then fell back 150 points. Happens to the best.

I think the 3 simuls I hosted had something to do with it Smile

play with more than 1 game is very hard..

It certainly cost me points...

Still, it was interesting.

Possibly best to wait until titled to do that, unless it is in person.

This account will be closed very soon: https://www.chess.com/member/chikasaw

He played with me about 2 months ago and won all the three games with insane statistics (no blunder, nor mistakes, +75% best moves etc.), and I reported him in the past, but the chess.com policy just gives a "notification" to the cheaters when they are exposed by the first time and they just earns notifications when was found enough evidence of cheating)... But now I have another evidence of him because he played a game with another person after me, and... he used engine in that game too! At least his statistics is very suspicious: https://www.chess.com/live/game/2071507457?username=chikasaw (the game has 33 moves... he made 33 excelent moves, according to chess.com analysis border... end of my argument). I will send this game to some supporter guy, and my experience says to me that in about two days his account will be closed! He is a shame! Trust me, in only two day his account will be closed.

Thank you, people, to remember me that I played with dirty players, this made me go to an old engine user that I have reported some months ago for search if he played and used engine with other people. Now he is done.

I told that this account would be closed very soon. This is why I dont waste my time in standard game, cause there are many many cheaters fooling honest people in this site. at least we can play blitz normally. This is my fourth opp that I can close their account by cheating.

Yes it is quite a shame about the rapid situation in general but I don't believe it's quite as bad in the beginner levels.

Avatar of Noam_Vitenberg

My rapid is very close to 1950. I have almost never played a cheater. A lot of people say that when you have a rapid rating around that you play a lot of cheaters.

can't find a single 1900+ player that wants to play a time control over 30 min

I like 15|10 because i am not forced to go fast and my opponents can’t take an hour to think

Avatar of SirBenjamin429

I can’t see how it’s possible to have a 1900 blitz rating and a 900 rapid rating unless maybe someone has narcolepsy and falls asleep and times out on longer time controls. Seriously though... a 1000 elo point difference is ridiculously unlikely. Some people are better at rapid than blitz and vice-versa but you usually only see about a 200 or 300 point difference at the most.
