Blitz Bullet and Rapid

Why are Blitz games tougher than Rapid and Bullet. But Bullet is easier than Rapid and not Blitz and Rapid games are tougher than bullet but not blitz

Carl-Showalter

If bullet is so "easy", why do you have such a horrible bullet rating? Get over 2400 in bullet then give your opinion about it. Right now you can't even make it to 1100.

See bcz I was playing bullet on phone for a long time. The moves slipped.... today my exams got over so I will start on pc and I bet that I will reach 1300 in 2 days

Look it's not very difficult to understand.

In rapid you get enough time to think and calculate . In bullet , you just have to move fast . Even if you play average moves , you will fare well. You can flag your opponent. Rapid completely relies on your chess ability while bullet mostly (if not entirely) depends on how fast you are .

However blitz is different. It's not long enough for you to be able to  calculate everything to the best of your ability but at the same time it's not short enough to flag someone by just playing random moves .

I didn't know that a 2200 rated player can have such a low puzzle rating...  plz dont take it otherwise

In blitz it's in that awkward position. You must move fast, but you can't play like bullet. It's like cricket. Cricket has 3 formats-T20-which is like bullet-ODI-which is like blitz-and test cricket which is like rapid. In ODIs, you could say that they are a shortened version of test cricket, but also a longer version of T20. So blitz is like an ODI, awkwardly positioned

Yeah . I like the cricket analogy

That's a new way of making someone understand... giving the examples of other sports

I'm 2400+ (not 2200), and you're only 1300 LMAO!

As for puzzles, I can easily get over 2600. I've been playing here for less than a day. A toddler would be able to figure that out by simply clicking on my profile. YOU, however, have made over 4400 attempts at puzzles and have got MORE THAN HALF WRONG, lmao! That's why your puzzle rating is a very modest 1900, even after all this time.

You really shouldn't have brought up puzzle ratings, since, Those who live in glass houses....

Look the rest up!

So I challenge you... I will reach 5000 in puzzles in just few days... And about other formats... I am better than you in Chess960 King to the Hill and other formats...  Not even a grand master can defeat me in other formats... Blitz Bullet and Rapid ratings will be gradually increasing in few days... And don't worry about me.. Just thing about urself

its up to the individual. Some people find rapid harder, some bullet, some blitz.

It's not like everyones weak to blitz like u lol.

At lower levels, speed games are harder. Speed games require experience and long term memory because there's no time to calculate, that's why it's more difficult for new and low level players.

Maybe bullet is easier than rapid because you can just make 100% pointless moves and win on time... but for truly new people, rapid is the easiest, then blitz and bullet are somewhere after that. I think the fact that you experience bullet as the easiest one means you have enough experience to make random moves quickly.

llama47

Also, all the strong players (titled players including top grandmasters) play 3 minute chess almost exclusively... meanwhile there are many good players who play rapid, but all of the total noobs play rapid because speed games are intimidating.

So the 3 minute blitz pool is a lot harder.

thanks for the cricket rated analogy @aviation18 i love cricket
