may be because you played a lot of blitz . i see that you lose only 2 point if you lose to higher rated player .. .but you gained 15 points by winning higher rated player .i think it makes sense . :) but if you play after a long time if you win first match you are playing your point will raise faster .(try it) .

Hey guys.
Been back into chess for a short while now, and i play a lot of blitz, as its the most convenient mode to play on the go. My rating for it is quite low, though.
My question is, how come my rating is quick to drop, but painfully slow to climb? During my last game, i beat somebody who was a few hundred points ahead of me and gained around 15 rating points, but if somebody beats me at my own level i lose much more.
To be honest im not THAT bothered about rating but it is a nice way to track my progress. Just wondering if anybody had an explaination for this erratic points system.
