Blitz rating discrepancy

I'm sure this topic has been discussed many many times but I will be a bore and talk about ratings; specifically, why are the blitz ratings so low?

I have migrated from another site to have a change of scenery and have been immediately crushed by several 1200 rated players in blitz. A few times I just played sloppily but the accuracy of play here is far in excess of what the ratings should represent.

I am by no means a very strong player, but as far as I'm concerned, ~1200 players are novices, and that is certainly not the case here. At the other site I played before my subscription ran out my standard rating hovered comfortably around 1600 and blitz around 1500. Here I can barely get to 1100 in blitz!

Anyway, I think the blitz ratings should be amended to reflect the skill level that they are supposed to.
